No on Prop 8 Supporters Create “Proposition 8: The Musical,” with Jack Black as Jesus—a Must See!

Well, that’s got to be a unique role for Jack Black, as Jesus. If you’ve visited this blog before, you may recall that I wrote about my own personal reasons for voting NO on California Proposition 8 in the November election. There’s a nice, family-oriented pre-election video clip in that post, for any of my blogger colleagues who claim the NO on Prop 8 supporters have been disrespectful toward the Mormons or any other religious group who supported Yes on Prop 8.

In my opinion, simply voting Yes on 8 was disrespectful to the civil rights of a significant number of U.S. citizens—gay and lesbian tax-paying citizens—and violated their Constitutional rights. So, we could argue about which “side” has been more disrespectful—or we can try to work together to thoughtfully discuss why Prop 8 goes against the separation of church and state and denies equal rights to a specific group of citizens.

I’ll let the video speak for itself. Humor, music and dance go a long way toward breaking down barriers.

I viewed this earlier today and it’s posting tomorrow – probably too late, but hey, what can I do. Priorities.

It was good to find this place. One which I’ve not been before.

Congratulations on your nuptuals – I hope they remain valid.

Hi, Lori, and thanks for visiting my artist blog. Mainly, this blog focuses on my artistic work as a writer, composer, sound designer, media and multidisciplinary artist, plus tips from my work as a creativity coach and innovation consultant. However, I have blogged more political posts because of the recent election and my strong feelings about some issues, including No on Prop 8. I hope you’ll return and read more of my arts and creativity oriented posts as well.

Just to be accurate, in my prior post on Prop 8: http://creativesagearts.com/blog/?p=25
I was talking about my own marriage, which happens to be straight, but I do hope that none of the marriages of our gay and lesbian friends are voided, and I will continue to support overturning Prop 8 and equality for all citizens.
